The Regency Chairs

The brief was to make four Regency chairs – two dining and two carvers to match an existing set of eight and then re-upholster all twelve. When I set up James Morley Furniture I didn’t set out to try and recreate antique furniture however this commission was a real challenge that tested all my skills and taught me many new ones in the process. It makes you appreciate the skills of the cabinetmakers of old. At the time of making, in 2002, the timber was 25 years old.
