The ‘Book’ Bookcase
A freestanding corner bookcase – functional and a little bit different. John is a keen botanist and lepidopterist and so wanted somewhere else to house his ever expanding collection of books as his other bookcases were completely laden with literature. A corner in his dining room was going begging so James came up with this solution; the dimensions were very specific as the bookcase had to fit underneath a large portrait. The bookcase is predominately made in Quilted Maple with the cover of the book in Indian Rosewood. Despite the rest of the furniture in the room being in dark timber, referring to the bookcase, John says: ‘it looks as if it has always been there’.
